
Mrs. Burd’s science classes recently learned about a farming operation in Utah that provides fruits and vegetables to stores, such as Walmart! The students then created a life cycle of a watermelon plant, actually planted watermelon seeds to take home, and colored a picture.

Congratulations to Sophie and Liam on winning the Easter Coloring contest in Mrs. Befort’s Kindergarten classroom at WGS. Thank you Ellis Recreation for putting this on!



Mrs. Befort’s KA students had a fun and engaging science project starting with a Dino Stomp looking for dinosaur eggs on the playground. When they returned to the classroom they started their science STEM activity. These paleontologist loved excavating their dinosaur eggs!

Just a reminder the WGS spring concerts are tonight. K-3 will perform at 6:30. The 4th-6th graders will perform at 7:30. These are in the WGS gym.

Mrs. Befort’s kindergarten students decorated umbrellas and displayed them in the hall at WGS. We were hoping for some “magical” rain to follow. Our wish came true on Friday evening!




The 4th-6th graders celebrated Earth Day with some fun activities! They watched a video on how to care for Earth, and the history of Earth Day. Then they completed an online escape room, word search and coloring page. 🌎🌍🌏

Thanks to the Hays Arts Council, the 4th, 5th, & 6th grade students were able to travel to the FHSU campus in Hays. There, they watched The Queen’s Cartoonists. This was a group of 6 talented musicians who played music along with the cartoons. It was a wonderful experience!

First graders are reading a story about kites this week, so we’re taking advantage of the wind!
