Kindergarteners took their field trip on Thursday to Walmart, Popt! Gourmet Popcorn, McDonald’s and the Arc Park.
2nd grade is working hard and having fun with their multiplication facts.
Dental Screenings, provided by First Care Clinic, will be held on April 20th, 2022, for Washington Grade School and Ellis Junior/Senior High School students. This is the makeup date from the March 10th, 2022, snow day.
Sixth graders put their knowledge about Newton’s Laws of Motion to use! They designed and built cars powered by a balloon. Our goal was for the car to travel at least 3 feet. Many achieved that goal and beyond! Shout out to Haylee and Libby!! Their car traveled 30 feet! Amazing!
Fourth graders were challenged by Mrs. Burd to build a 3-story building that could withstand a 15 second earthquake. They did so well!

Brilliant minds at work! With the 5th graders look comfy and relaxed, their brains are hard at work taking their math state assessments.
The first graders became doctors today! Surgeons to be more exact. All week they have been learning about contractions so today they gowned up, then cut apart and stitched words back together with apostrophes. Thankfully all of the “patients” were saved.
The weather might be too windy to read outside. However, Miss Rohleder’s class knows how to relax while enjoying a good book.

Another round of students have earned 90 AR points to silly string their teachers! Congratulations Dora, Mackinley, Derek, and Skylynn! Dora now has over 300 points!!!
Washington Grade School students, teachers, and staff celebrated Music In Our Schools Month during the month of March with a little Music Madness. Brackets were filled out and votes were cast to decide the winning song. Jaxin Howland, 6th grade, and Jaxon Henman, 3rd grade were the winners of the music genre bracket challenge.
KA has been improving throughout the year on their daily writing. Each student submitted a prose and a poetry piece for the Hays Arts Council Creative Writing. Mrs. Befort was so proud of the creativity and imagination they put into their work!
