Congratulations again to Avery Boydston on her 2A Regional Runner-Up finish on Saturday! We wish her all the best as she competes Saturday in the KSHSAA State Championships held at the Wamego Country Club. The 2A Girls' race is set to start at 11:10am. The KSHSAA State Cross Country Championships page has information that will likely answer any questions you have, but here are some quick notes for the event Saturday. Admission is $10 for everyone in kindergarten and above. GoFan Digital Ticketing will be used and spectators are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to avoid waiting in cash lines. No dogs are allowed on the course. Programs will be sold for $4. State championship apparel will be sold at the event. Awards presentation will be held at the stadium after the races.

Ellis Junior High Students with 1 or less absences went to Hays for Attendance Reward Lunch. Two lucky students received ten dollars to spend when their names were drawn, Hannah James and Talon Pyle. It was a good time and the food was Yummy!!

Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for next week, Tuesday, October 25, and Wednesday, October 26, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Parents are asked to stop by the office to pick up grade cards first! EJH/EHS teachers will be in their classrooms.

Saturday's Regional Cross Country event will be held at Lake Barton, located north of Great Bend. The girls' race is scheduled for 11:20am and the boys' will run at 12:00pm. Participating schools include: Elkhart, Ellinwood, Ellis, Hays-TMP, Hill City, Hoxie, Johnson-Stanton County, Leoti-Wichita County, Meade, Medicine Lodge, Oakley, Plainville, Smith Center, Sublette, Syracuse, and WaKeeney-Trego Community.
