Dear Ellis Patrons,
November 8th is the General Election in our state, and your vote can make a difference for Kansas schools.
Whether you plan to vote in person or by advance ballot, there are a few dates you will need to keep in mind:
October 18th - is the voter registration deadline. To confirm your registration is current, visit www.ksvotes.org.
October 19th - November 7th is the timeframe in which you can cast your vote early via an advance ballot or at the following locations (Insert local county/city info on early polling locations/times – these dates may differ by county).
November 1st - is the last day to request an advance ballot; you can submit your request online at ksvotes.org.
November 8th - is Election Day! Vote in person at your designated polling place.
Make your plan now to ensure your voice is heard this November, and encourage your friends, family members, and coworkers to do the same.
Sincerely,
Janice Wilson

Good afternoon!
On Tuesday, October 11, the high school and grade school students and staff will participate in an Evacuation Drill at 2:00 p.m. To protect students and staff in the event of a dangerous situation, including a bomb threat, gas leak, fire, active shooter, etc., preparation is critical so that students and staff understand their roles if an adverse event should occur. The drill will also help school leadership evaluate and improve the protocols in place to ensure the highest levels of safety for all.
The upcoming drill will involve evacuations to designated safe locations. The K-6 students and staff will evacuate to the NW campus and the JR/Sr High School students and staff will evacuate to the bus barn. Pre-K students and staff will walk to the United Methodist Church.
To help facilitate the drill, the Ellis Police Department will be on hand. The district office will also send a PRACTICE alert to calibrate our system. After a debrief at each location, students will then walk back to their assigned buildings. Kindergarten and 1st grade will ride a bus back to their school sites.
Thank you for trusting us to keep your children safe.
